Danton’s Gulf Coast Seafood Kitchen is a cool, laid back restaurant located in Houston, Texas. Owned and run by lifelong pals Danton and Kyle Teas, the restaurant features beautiful, fresh seafood brought in directly from the Gulf Coast. The restaurant has a welcoming, historical feel with walls covered in black and white photos of family and friends, coastal maps, sketches of the Gulf Coast, trophies, and more. Every food item on the menu is made from scratch every day. Some popular food choices are the “Crab Danton” with blue crab meat and garlic remolaude sauce, “Debris” a juicy pot roast with Swiss cheese and French bread, delicious gumbos, stuffed flounder, and shrimp creole. The restaurant also has sweet desserts such as “monkey” cake. Danton’s has a separate happy hour menu and a Sunday Blues Brunch with live music and special foods from 11-4 pm. Seafood lovers and food lovers in general are sure to find good food and fun entertainment at Danton’s. The restaurant location is 4611 Montrose Blvd. , Houston, Texas 77006. The restaurant welcomes walk-ins, but reservations of up to six people can also be made online or by phone. For larger crowds, Danton’s does allow private dining and events. Danton’s Gulf Coast Seafood Kitchen is open Monday through Saturday 11am-2:30pm for lunch, 5:30pm to 10pm for dinner, 4-7pm in the Oyster Bar only for Happy Hour, and Sundays from 11am-4pm.
McCormick and Schmick’s in Houston is an upscale sea food restaurant just west of downtown, off of Highway 610 near both the German and French consulates. The restaurant has a wide and varied menu that is focused mainly on high quality seafood dishes. Example entrees include seared yellow-fin tuna, almond crusted rainbow trout, gulf fried shrimp and tilapia with Jamaican rum butter.
